A standard RJ45 connector without proper shielding becomes an antenna, radiating EMI and picking up external noise that causes packet drops and latency spikes.
Our Integrated Magnetic Jacks (ICMs) address these issues by enclosing the impedance-matched transformers, common-mode chokes, and autotransformers within a 360-degree, nickel-plated brass or copper alloy shield. This robust metal envelope blocks external radiated emissions and contains internal high-frequency switching energy. Additionally, we integrate internal common-mode chokes to suppress common-mode currents. This helps maintain stable performance and ensures compliance with strict FCC Part 15 and EN 55022 Class B electromagnetic radiation standards.
Our copper alloy contacts feature selective gold plating (up to 50 micro-inches) over a nickel underplate.
